As Isuzu Philippines Corporation celebrates its 300,000th unit sales milestone, the country's number one commercial vehicle brand revealed some facts 24 years in the making. Here are some things you didn't know (probably) about Isuzu in the Philippines. The first Isuzu vehicle ever sold in the Philippines was an Isuzu NKR85. It was sold by Isuzu Davao for a price of P 475,000. During its first year, Isuzu only had 12 dealerships nationwide. Today, there are 43 dealerships located across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Pagadian City is their 43rd dealership. It took 12 years for Isuzu to reach the 100,000th unit sales mark. Within the next nine years, they reached 200,000, and after six years, they achieved 300,000. In the course of 24 years (1996 to August 2020), Isuzu Philippines sold a total of 300,133 units. About a third of this or 113,475 were AUVs; 64,245 were pickup trucks, 63,669 were SUVs; and 58,744 were trucks. The 300,000th unit sold was a D-Max RZ4E with a cargo body purchased from Isuzu Leyte. The owner, Marthy Medrano won himself P 50,000 as a special award from Isuzu Philippines. Part of their 300,000th unit sales milestone, Isuzu Philippines will be offering the biggest discounts yet on the D-Max with up to P 200,000 in savings. The same goes for the Traviz light-duty truck which gets a P 130,000 discount until the end of the year. On the service side, Isuzu Philippines will give a 30 percent discount for parts and labor for all Isuzu owners with odometer readings ranging from 300,000 to 310,000 kilometers. This promo is good until the end of October. In lieu of EBs, Isuzu Philippines will be inviting its three biggest clubs for an "Online Tambayan." The dates slated are October 10 for mu-X Owners Philippines, October 17 for Team Isuzu Car Enthusiast, and October 24 for Team Isuzu Pilipinas.
